Saturday practice
Under the jurisdiction of WASRA, members may join in for a practice session from Saturday 10.00am (subject to change).
Targets may be shot at 20m, 50m or 90m subject to approval of the Range Officer who will assess the conditions on the day. This is non-competitive, so an ideal time to tune your rifle and scope or try out some new ammunition.
Tuesday Practice
Like with Saturdays, Tuesdays offer a practice session commencing at 9.00am (subject to change), with breaks for morning tea and lunch. This is also for members only, run by WASRA and is an ideal time to have a relaxed shoot and test out new equipment.
Tuesday practice sessions sometimes have a BBQ lunch. A great way to finish your practice.
Fees & costs
Every time you shoot on a range, there are "Range Fees". For Wednesday nights this is $8 for pensioners/juniors, $10 for members and $15 for visitors. For Saturday and Tuesday practice, this is now $15 (seniors discount also applies).
Costs of competitions vary but most are around $25 to enter.
Annual Club membership is $265 or $175 for a (pensioner/junior). There is a $15 joining fee. Note: these fees may be reviewed after August 1st.
Other information
Ammunition
Ammunition can cost anywhere between $8.50 and $25 for a box of 50 bullets. The club can supply ammunition via the Ammunition Officer. Members who are using club equipment and do not hold a firearms licence must give unused ammunition back to a licenced member to hold for them. They must not take it home.
Club equipment
The club has a range of equipment including front rests and rear stock bags for benchrest shooting. Spotting scopes are also available for coaches to see how good their shooters are!
Prone shooters are able to use club mats for lying on, and there is a selection of jackets to try.
Club Rifles
There is a limited number of club rifles that may be used by visitors and new members. This needs to be arranged in advance with the Senior Range Officer who will need to know if a shooter is right or left handed.
PLEASE NOTE:
Visitors may not shoot any rifle (whether personal, another club member's or a loan rifle) that is fitted with any type of magazine. Single shot only.
